ANOTHER BIG RUSSIAN SUCCESS.

LONDON. Oct. 12.

A message from Fatrograd says the Russians have hol a big succeSA. in the south-eastern theatre.

They broke the enemy's front on thus river Strypm. Already sfeers and 9,000 men have been captured; niso four hun ap ten machine-guns.

The Russians are following up this summons.

It is also officially announced that the Bul- garians, tooving along the Vlasina River, have reached à point twenty- five miles south-east of Nish and only ten miles east of the milway. As regards the present the Government's policy would be adapted to meet futuro avents.

*** M. Venczelas, replying, said the majority of the chamber would support the Government as long as the mesiples of las policy were unchanged. It was not a question whether they ought to join the war, but it was to the interest of Greece that Bulgaria should be crushed. Should Bulgaria conquer, Heliçaisin would be completely vanquished..

The sitting was adjourned to October 18.

PRESIDENT WILSON-DECLARES AMERICA MUST REMAIN NEUTRAL.

Londos, Oct. 13. Renter's correspondent at Washington states that President Wilson Ahas given a series of addresses to various women's societies in which he affirmed with great emphasis that America must remain noutral throughout the Europeun war. He said We must keep out, not merely to avoid trouble but to preserve the foulations whereon peace could be rebuilt. America must preserve the cause of humanity.

He declared, in another speech, that all Americans, on pain of being cstracized, must be more than neutral. There were too many citizens without sufficicat affection for Americia flecks. This is taken as a challenge against tho "hyphenated Americans" whom he described as

very vocal but not very influential.”

A communique dated the 9th inst, states that the enemy, russed the Tanube between Sotasodrin and Gradischte all day and night on Thursday, and, covered by the most violent fire from the Belgrade frnt, reached the milig on the Dannbe quay, the horbians abandoning Gypsy Island. Monawhile, the enamy's adyanca en the Suve was arrested, his attacks wore pulsed with the heaviest loss, and attempts to fortun erossing of the Drinu were defeated.

Interviewed by the Amsterdam Telegraaf's correspondent at Petro- grad, the Bulgarian Minister, M. Madjuroft, stated that the Bulgarian Government's adventuro would romain is ignominy in history. He dwelt on the fact that Bulgarin had been liberated by Rossiu, and he regarded Bulgaria's future as very dark because she had failed in ber moral obligations. He was returning to Bulgaria to tell the full truth.
