THE DARDANELLES OPERATIONS,

A FRENCH REVIEW.

LONDON, July 23, -4,50 aan. An official review, issued in Paris, of the operations in the Dar lanelles fová June 28th to the 9th us, and of the British attack on June 28, says ther was no stopping the infantry ones they started. It also says that two days prior to the Turkish general attack on July 5 úbsorvers reported the arrival of ten thousand Turkish reinforcements. The attack was characterised by display of resumes hitherto

unifusted. A Turkish battleship shared in the Narrows participated with the artillery in the preparation and aeroplanes bombed the Allied lines, but the infantry assaults were lifeless und spasmodic. There was no sign of the previous ardour, wiped out by ride and maxim fire. After the failure of the attack, seventeen Allied arroplanes bouthed Chanak.

SPLENDID WORK BY BRITISH ARMOURED MOTOR CARS.

LONDON, July 23,

A dispatch from Mytilene says that the British armoured actor-cars have been most successful against the enemy in Gallipoli and the recently captured trenches was due to their help. They darted towards the entanglements and grappled the wires with iron hooks, attached the cars by short chains and thea, at fall speed to the rear, tace down the entanglements for a length of 150 yards. The infantry quickly tilled the gap.
