A Brush With The Turks.

LONDON, Jan. 30, 5.25 a.m.

A message from Cairo states that the Turks occapy Katia, which is twenty- five miles north-east of Kantara with outposts at Birelduerdar, twelve miles nearer. There is another Turkish post at Moyaharab, twenty-five miles east of the Bitter Lakes, and there is a third at Birmabeluk ten miles east of Suez. The Turks also have a small post at Tor, in the Red Sea.

On Thursday morning, a Turkish reconnaissance came into contact with a British post east of Katara, and were driven off,-leaving-four_dead. They carried of a wounded Indian officer, one Indian was killed, and five Gurkhaa wounded.

The enemy attacked a post at Kubri, near Soez, bi: they were easily defeated.
