At a meeting of the London City and Midland Bank, the Chairman urged that Mr. Lloyd George should appoint
Royal Commission to consider the gold quation, including a scheme for the issue of "amergency currency." He also suggested that if the Joint Stock Banks held at least 5 per cent. of their liabilities in gold it would in- creme confidance and greatly assist towards preventing any crisis.
