Shortly stated, the afoot of the libel is that tim plaintiff was responsible for the public disgrace and; the public infamy. if it might be called so of the late Oscar Wilde, that he was instrumental in bring ing about the digesed of "Oscar Wilde, and is further charges the plaintif with this: that after Wildo came out of prison in 180 the plaintif went to live with him and lived on him at Naples, and only stayed with him for mercenary motives, and that as soon as Wilde's allowance stopped the plaintif abandoned him as a friend and let him penniless in Naples. There could be no more serious libel written of any man."
