As stated (in A Router's teingram recently, Lord Farness, head of the great shipbuilding firm of Furness, Withy and Co., and the Furness line of steamers, died on Nov, 10 at Grantley Hall, Yorks, where pad gone for a complete rest after

resigning some of his public positions in September.

Lord Furness, who was born in 1852, was the first holder of the title which was, created'in 1910, and was better, known as Sir Christopher Furness, and M.P. for Hartlepool.

He is succeeded in the barcny by the Bod. Marmaduke Furness, of the Manor, Cundall, York, who was born in 1883 sad married in 1904 to Miss Daisy Hogg, daughter of Mr G. J. B. Hogg.
