THE VOLUNTEER RESERVES.
A Field Day At Castle Peak.

A Field day on a small scale took pince on Sunday at amongst the members of the Volunteer Reserves, sixty members being ou parade. His Excellency the Governor was prosent and was acco panied by Capt. C. V. S. Skrimshire, Staff Officer of the Hongkong Volunteer Corps. The Company embarked on the Govern- ment steam gacht Statley.at 10.30 and
Castle Punk was reached shortly after Boon. Alter disambarking, the Company was miched to some higher ground where a very useful lecture was delivered by Capt. Shrimabire on the duties and formationa of Infantry in extended order and attack formations. Then the Company was prac tised in extended order drill until 1,20, when a most welcome lunch was served through the hospitality of Bin Excellenes.
