THE HARBOUR SWIM,

(Eontinued from page 3).

THE CHINA MAIL.

Mr. Logan, is introducing Mrs. Bryson, said the Harbour race was initiated by Tho

China Mtil, Ind., who had been very good in prosenting prizes year after your for the event. It was good of them to prosent sub prizes. The harbour race

must be considered the most difficult that took place in Hongkong. It required | perfect training, a lot of pluck and a ch of practice. Es mantioned that out of the last seven races the Army and Navy had entried off the first priza on four secarious (applause). Bombardier Nutty bad put up a good race. He would per hupa have done better had ho kept a straighter course, and might have mado a record time.

Mrs. Bryson than gave away the prizes and was afterwards proscated by Mfr. 539 Laramiert, on behalf of the V.B.C. com- ittee, with a beautiful bouquet in a silver holder. ...

This last- mentioned year the race, was declared void as none of the competitors could finish in the extremely cold water. The next year the water was so rough at Southport that it was with difficulty that the competitors were able to finish, and the Amateur
