During the period that has elapsed since isque of our last report, the market- for usual trades continued to rule quiet with rates further declining. Howevery quite unexpectedly a demand for tonnage forf conveyaneo of troops from Canton to Pak- hoi cropped up giving some versols a very prostable employment indeed considering the present state of the freight market all round. Several "China Merchant S. N. Co.'s steamers also embarked troops at Canton for the North.
