Grey Headed Man Haunts House At Balham,

An amazing ghost story was told at the Wandsworth County Court, before Jadge Harington, when Thomas Henry Wrousted, of Queen Victoria street, sued William Atkinson, of Borough-road, S.E., for £10 13. 4d., 'rent duo in respect of a house in Catles-foad, Balban.

Mr. Hane, solicitor for the plaintiff, said that a very curious defence had been put in, the defendant objecting to pay rent for the premises Because, he said, the house was haunted by an old gray-bended mat. The defendant-left the boum and declined to pay aftur taking the premises for 19 monthu.
