CLAIM 'UNDER A PROMISSORY

NOTE

Before Mr Justice. Gompertz, at the Supreme Court this morning, Chet Singh' sued Jumin Alli and another to recover $100, due under a promissory nate dated July 4.

Mr J. H. Gardiner appeared for plaintif

and Mr W. More for the first defondant; and Mr Reader Harris for the second.

Mr Gardiner said that the promissory note was signed by the first defendant and on the face of it the second defendant had *signed as a witness. Plaintiff said that was

fraud and that the second defendant was the principal and the first defendant wa really a guarantor.
