According to a newspaper report, M. Keir Eardio's scheme for a Socialist daily newspaper is dead. The paper was to have been published early, this year, with head. quartors, at Manchester and a capital of £10,000. At the Birmingham conference of the Independent Labour Party, a few months ago,-the-National Administrativo Council wero asked, by resolution, to adopt Mr Keir Hardie's scheme. After much consideration the council have come to the unanimpus conclusion that the scheme in unworkable. It is understood that Mr. Keir Hardie wished the paper to be con- *--- trolled by the advanced Socialist ving so that it might be used to make the trade- unionists toe the mark. The National Administrative Council of the Independent Labour Party have how approved a schemic for a London morning paper to be pro. moted by them jointly with the Socialist party in Parliament. The capital is pat | at £100,000, and £20,000 has been sub- scribed....
