At the Victoris Theatre on Monday night Miss Lynda Davis made her debut and her enthusiastic reception was well merited. As a dancer she is one of the best ever seen on the stage in Hongkong. Her electric dance was a great wonder and simply electrified the audience. Messa Ramos and Rames are to be congratulated on this Ene acquisition to their popular place of amusement. Little Kitty Don- nelly will be given a bencit performance on Friday night and, by kind permission of Colonel Hamilton and Officers, the band of the K.O.Y.L.L will gira selections during the evening.

Capt. Spedding, who was a native of Scotland, Bakers, Confectioners, Caterers,

was well-known and very popular with his fellow-mariners on the China coast. Before his rival in the Far East he was for a pariod of twenty years in the service of the Union Line (New Zealand), in which be rose to the mank of Captain. He came to China in 1890 and joined the China Mler- chanta Steam Navigation Co. as chief officer, and was given the command of the C.M.S. Irene in 19. Since March of this year he has suffered from heart trouble, and left the General Hospital quite recent- ly, only to return there again a few days before his demise.
