Growing Decline of Salling Craft,
Those who seek their pleasure in ex tended arises have of late years shown a tendency to abandon sailing craft in favour of steam vessels, and the large ocean-going schooner has become a roro aris amongst yachts. There has bean an enormous in crass in the number of Britiah-owned steam yachts during the past decade, and at the British ensign dosts abors approx "'imately half the steam yachts in the world. According to the last issue of Lloyd's Register the steam and motor yachta owned by all nations number 2,478, with an ag- gregate tonnage of 28,906, and of these the United Kingdom can claim 1,259 vessels, with a total tonnage of 119,508.
