A City Constable

Nervous Depression,

"Lassitude, Rheumatism-

From all lands deputations come to study the melied which has made the London Constable superior to all others." "The method by which I make myself equal to my work," says Constable Lawrence, “consists of taking Phoslerine at intervals, as in this way I keep myself alert mentally and physically." Since taking Phosferine, Constable Lawrence can remain on "point" duty in all weathers, controlling the amazing volume of City traffic, without experiencing the terrible derve strain and weariness which formerly distressed him. Even amongst men who excel, Constable Lawrence is known as an exceedingly capable officer, equal to any emergency, and he declares that Phosfering alone enables him to maintain himself in this fine condition.

Quite removed.

Constable Lawrence, 393, High Road, Tottenham, writes:-" Possibly there is not an occupation more nerve trying than that of a point-duty policeman, especially when the roads are slippery and the drivers have a difficulty in holding up their harses. Add to this, the skidding of motor omnibus and the dodging of maxi-cabs, de, it will be seen that my duty is not a pleasant one. I am sure that no one would care to change places with us for more than a few minutes, for it would at once be felt that the dangers are too numerous to cope with. Policemen look big, strong men, but are just as likely to get run down in health as other men, and this is what happened to me sometime ago, when I suffered from headaches, nerve-depression, lassitude and rheumatic pains. After trying many remedies, I was recommended. Ftosferine, and can say that it is a wanderful renewer of health, and seems to put fresh life into one from the first dose. I am now quits myself again, and very thankful that Phosferine was brought to my notice."-March 5, 1910.

Mr Pack:Were the defalcations "dis covered before Mr Gunn left Singapore?

The Chairman: Yes.

Mr Peck: What steps wors taken. Did the directors not think it advisable to detain Mr Gunn here!

'The Chairman. The directors have been acting all along in the interests of the shareholders, and in everything we have dano we have taken that view. I believe we have acted in the boat interests of the sizareholders.

Mr W. A White: What is the position with regard to Mr Gunn's transfors?

The Chairman: In connection with. Mr Gunn'a defalcations certain individuals ware ratherisit" by him in regard to some of the company's shares. Ho is the registered owner of 1,750 shares, which so far as we know, were sold to other people. Now they have come forward and have expressed the idea that he being secretary to the com. pany, the company is really liable. The qubation is, are the shareholders agreeable that that loss be borne by the company or ahall it be contested. I personally would rather pay. We have, we believe, that right to sell theas shares and realise 88,575 ́in part settlement of his debt.
