Hongkong Government

Precautions.

None too soon Hongkong is moving offici. ally in regard to the prevention of plague. Of course cipes of bubenic plague aro always to bo exported in the hinterland of Suntow and up country from Amoy and no unnecessary alarm need be felt that one er

two cases havi cenrred there, still Hong- Ikong can not afford to take nay chancen.

From enquiries madecat the CuONAL, Secretary's office this afternoon we learn that the Government has to-day declared, Newohang, Chingrantao. Harbin wud Cheloo to be infected ports, and that the tisual restrictions applied in euch cases will be placed cu artivals from those places.

From Peking the nows this morning faitly cheerful, the plague is stayed in some places, has broken put in a new arcs near Makden, though not seriously, and is, diminishing elsewhere.
