Cattle Almost Bettor.

A talnuts, by the Colonial Veterinary. Surgeon intive to an outbreak of foot and mouth disease at No. 7 shed and the hospital shed, Sassoon's Villa, and No. 4 shed Pokfulam, missubmitted at the most- ing of the Sanitary Board this afternoon. Mr A. Gibson stated that foot and mouth disease had appeared amongst the Dairy Farm Co's cows of No. 7 shed, Sassoon's Villa, Pekfalucs Rand. One cow was sick and seven other animals at one end of the shed we at the other there were eight sfected. The cow and the other seved animals had been removed to the, hospital | abed while the others had been allowed to remain. The 3anager had Also reported that the disease: had "broken out at No. 4 shed containing twelve animals, Mr Gibson had had the affected sheds closed provisionally, and recommended that these places be declarad infected areas.

The Select-Committee appointed to deal with this matter had declared the places infected.

To-day Mr Gibson minutod-I have to report that the situation is practically un- changed since last roport. There have been no deaths and the animals first attacked ara now almost recovered.
