VARIETY ENTERTAINMENT.

There was a disappointing attendance at the Theatre Royal last night when the variety entertainment arranged in aid of the Soldiers' and 'Sailors Hone took place. Bad it not been for the axval and military element in the dress circle and -the considerable gathering of Chinese ladies and gentlemen in the stalls the audiences would have been record for sualiness. His Excelloney the Governor and Lady Lagard graded the ivent with their presence, while suongst others present were. Sir Henry, Lady and Miss Bins, Commodore and Me Eyres Major General and Mrs Anderson.
