The NC. Daly News in an editorial articir calls attention to a very important judgment just delivered by Sir Bavilland de Saumarez in the case of the Tai Ning. The effect of the judgment, says contemporary, is that no shipping company registered under the Hoogkong Ordinances, whose principal place of business is in Shanghai, Tientsin, Canton or any other treaty port, can enjoy the benefits of limitation of liability in collision cases which all British ships, and most foreign ships, enjoy.
