A tale of attempted poisoning comes from the Ping Chow village in the Nam Boi district. Two brothers lived side by side in the place and there was a certain amount of bad feeling between them owing to some property. Last weak the members of the elder brother's family were taken with violent pains, purging and vomitting. The man sospected that the well had been tampered with and when he got a little better called, workmen to clean it out. It was discovered that a large bottle full of poison had been thrust into the well by means of some bamboo tubes. The bottle
