some thought for even higher things, it may be added that the attendances at. our Church Services have been considerably above the average this year. At our Christmas Service there was hardly a vacant seat, though it is only fair to say that this was partly due to sonte seats having been taken outside to make room for the decora tions, as well as to the attendance of a 3 number of Chinese Girls who know Eng lish. By the way, a werd of praise is due

THE CHINESE CHUCH.

The large Church on Kulangsu knoWN, DA the Hokimtong" was decorated by the Chinese Christinas in readiness for Services held in it both on Christmas Day and the Sunday after, and these were most effective. if somewhat gaudy from a Western stand-

point Good congregations attended, and the varicus preachers made the best of the occasion. At the Kurgu Anglo- Chinese College, festivities and special services were bold, and large audiences gathered together both to the sports and evening meetings The building was 1-| liantly illuminated for several ovenings, and made a conspicuous object in the moonlight. Perfect weather has been our lot this Christmas, and one wonders whe ther it can be beaten the world over. Certainly one knows there are thousands in the home innds who would roval in the, 71 glorious sunshine and magnificent moca-

light nights.
