-tender,«, which stands in the name of Mr Ho Shai-kit, who is, weare informed, a son of Mr Ho Kom Tong, and who is said to f have a strong Chinese syndicate at his back. This means that the firm will yield -$1,183,200 a year under the new condi- tions, as against 81,452,000, a loss of $269,000 on the present rental.

It will be observed that the accepted vendor falla short of the highestment in by just $1,800 a yest, but doubtless the -Corail had good reasons for making the chaice they did. We understand, however,
