C. The Admiralty have had thisb
ect under consideration, and it is some satisfaction to know that they have decided s make both the Hosting locks which are included in this year's programme of a size sufficient to lift a battleship of the Drend- nought type. The intention some months ngo was to be content with one such dock, making the other dock suitable only for smaller craft; but the grave danger of possible war in the North, Son, without way, docking facilities, has resulted in tho decision to build both docks of the Larger size. The Civil Lord of the Admiralty, in commending this proposal for the approval of Parliament, pointed out that the docks, which could be completed within one-and- a half years, would be cheaper than ordinary graving-docks, and would be mobile. Among the disadvantaged' is the, limited life (although this is estimated at
