Service Marathon Race.

Considerable interest was taken during the first week of June in a Service Mara- then race from Sherrnam to Leyidown and back. a distance of about twenty miles. There were upwards of thirty entries from ships in port and the military and Ter ritorial forces. The race was won by Abio- Seaman Hannan, of the battleship Lord Nelson; time, hrs. 35mins. First-class Petty Officer Parkie, of the scout Path- fader, was second, and Gunner Jones, of the Kent and, Sassex Territorial Artillery,
