On Tuesday last, the Officers of HM- Naval Yard met on the Yard tennis lawn to present Mr J. C. Joughin, RUN.C., Assistant Constructor, with a hadscre silver ton service as a mark of their good- will on the occasion of his forthcoming wedding. The presentation was made by the Chief Constractor (Bir W. T. Hackaday R.C.N.C.) who, on behalf of the officers of the Yard, warmly congratulated MrJoughin and wished him every happiness. Mr Joughin suitably replied and a pleasant little function terminated with three hearty chears for Mr Joughin alled for by the Chief Construçfor."

Sir Honey Berkeley, K.C., instracted by Mr G. Bailey, applied at the Bankruptcy Court, this morning, before the Chief Justice, Sir Francis Piggott, on. bobalf of the Wei-hai-wei Land and Building Co., Ltd., for an order to reduce kite capital of the company from taels 250,000 to tools 200,000. Bir Henry Berkeley said that the firm had passed a resolution for the roduction of the capital of the company, That reduction End been rendered necessary. because of the uncertainty of the tenure of Wei-hei-wei.
