Another debate of a very interesting character took place at the YM.C.A, Trebating Society on Tuesday evening on a bill to provide for a graduated income tax for Dongkong. The motion was in- troduced by Sir T. Fuller and supported by Messos R. A. Lowery and E. B. Cubey, while Mr J. W. Troskes, Captain F. A.

Brown and Captain Baker spoke in opposi

tion. The motion was carried by one voto.

On Tuesday evening a public inter-dehate | is to be held between the Y.M.CA. and the Union Churz Literary Club on the ubject of the Asiatic emigration question. As this is a subject which is assuming large proportions and which will even tually have to be discussed on a universai basis the debate ought to be a most inter esting one. The Y.M.C.A. who selected the subject are to be congratulated on their foresight and courage in grappling with such a thorny problem.
