A telegram from Chinking dated Fob 19, informs the North China Daily News that the Hamburg-Amerika steamer Ascauiu has run down the German hulk Bremen. The master of the hulk was saved, but many Chinese were drowned, and heavy damage was done. The Ascania was bound down the river. She lost steerage way and ersabed into the starboard bow of the bulk. The hulk sank in the fairway in front of another holk.
