THE LATE MR. W. DANHY.

A handsome brass tablet has been placed in the South Transopt of St. John's Cathedral, Hongkong, in memory of the late Mr Danby: Unfortunately the marble by which it should be surrounded was broken on the voyage out from England and the brass tablet has been temporarily placed on a background of wood. The tablet bears the following inscription --- To the Glory of God and in memory of William Denby, M.I.C.E., a resident in the Colony for 35 years, and for many years Honorary Architect of this Cathedral Church, Bom May 5th, 1842. Fell Baléep February 12th, 1908. He gave; He takes then when Ho thin it best for them to come to Him and find their rest. Erected by his friends.”

Ts Danby has written to Mrs Siedman to say that she had seen and admired the tablot before it left.
