Mr Drew Braidwood said:Mrs Belilics, ladies and gentlemen-On behalf of the committen of the Craigongower Cricket Club, I beg to extend to you a most hearty welcome on the occasion of the opening of our new club house, bat before calling apon Mrs Belilios to perform the opening ceremony, it may not be amiss for me to give you a short resume of the club's in- Reption and carosz. The club was formed fifteen years ago by a number of the upper form bose of the Victoria English School, took the name Craigongower from the school boase and for the first reçen years of ata oxistence the club membership was con- Ened to past and then presont pupils of the #chool. In 1901, however, this restriction was removed, members other than pupila. were admitted and at the same time, the club, baring, through the kindness of the Government, t been granted the use of the present playing pitch, migrated hither. Originally the club consisted of twenty-four members but shortly after the removal to Happy Valley the number iuutemmed to sixty and to accommodate theeo & sub- stantial matabed pavilion, the funds for which were raised voluntary subscrip- tion among the members of the club, was erected. That pavilion was lator en extended and from time to time
