RIOT AT KAURONG.
Kaubong is a country distries situated not far from Canton. The origin of a recent rit there, in which several lives were lost ammy Ahora seriously wounded, was in this wise. A few days ago, however, a new shed was being built in the district, and it was announced that the building was in. tended for a new liikin station, and flast a special tax was to be itapon upon the fshing industry. This interference, and the threatened imposition of a tax that has not been heard of for upwards of a hundred years, caused grant consternation and the baberen datormined upon position. What exactly happened is difficult to disccvor, but of the ringleaders of the opposition were arrested, being badly hurt during the process.
