It would be thought that an axe at least would furin part of the equipment of every guardia van and every station yet no dze was nailable on Monday night; and its absence hindered ennsiderably the thak of removing the wounded from their agonising imprisvu- meut in the midst of the wreckage, and unnecessarily. prolonged their pains:
