Two Glasgow Lawyers Arrested.

Two leading citizens of Glasgow were on March 21st arrested on a serious charge of embezzlement, by which, it is stated, the Royal Infirmary of the City may suffer seriously.

The gentlemen in question aro MeHenry Tamond and Mr J. Stuart Jang, partners of the legal firm of Messrs Lamurid," "Larg and Company. The charge is that, while; acting as law agents on the state of the late Andrew Wilson, they embezzled the sum of £10,000.

The interesting part of the story from the public point of view is that under the trust in question the managers of Glasgow.. Royal Infirmary were the residuary legatces. Mr Lamond was for a number of years: secretary and law agent to the infirmary, a post to which he succeeded on the death of his father many years ago, and relinquished only a few weeks ago, when another ap pointment was made. Since the beginning of the year rumour has been busy in connection with the affair. The infirmary anthorities were, it is stated, unaware that the property had been left to them.

Mr Lang, the other prisoner, was until a month or two agor nugisfinte of the Burgh of Partick.

The two secimed were inken before the Sheriff, who fixed bail at £2,000 in each case. As the money was not forthcoming, both men were removed to guol
