A short study of the prospectus of the Shansi slunces and the articles of associn- tion will show that when the Shansi shares were created their rights were only as to the profits derived from the two concessiona -viz., Shanoi and Hop-and the only i preference which they hold is one of 10 per cent. of the net profits in each year until the sun poil nount to £1 per share, the balance being divisible as to 30 per cent. to the Shansi shares and 30 per est, to the ordinary and deferred, and the question of return of capital can only corou into cou sideration upon the winding up of the

In order to make this clear we quote Article 1 of the articles of association, which expressly defines the interest of the Shansi slutes. It runs as follows:
