COAL FOR THE PHILIPPINES. To Supply the U. S. Fleet.
WASHINGTON, January H.
The United States navy department has plans on foot whereby 100,000 tons of coal will be landed in the naval stations of the
Philippine Islands before the middle of April of this your. Every available vessel for the transportation of coal from the United States is being engaged and the cargoes will be landed in the islands before the big battleship feet arrives.
The navy department is displaying on usun netivity in uvury bureau. The vy yar in this city is working double forces of men and remning night and day to turn out armaments for the proposed new vessels for the navy and other supplies for He feet.
