The cable says that the North German Lloyd steamer Soydlitz reports that the steamer Fortunatusly a burning delclict..

She passed the vessel on August 11 and saw no sign of life on board.

The wreck lies directly in the track of Colombo-Freemantle steamers, and is inost dangerous to shipping.

It apports that the vessel left Calautta, on July 16, on her usual trip to Melbourne, and called at Colombo on the 23rd, resum- ing the voynga three days later.
