The keel or backbone of the airship son sists of a steel tank 18 in. in diameter ind 115 ft. in length, with a capacity for holding' 1,200 gallons of petrol. The top of this tank will be really the deck of our ship. The tank is divided into compartironts to prevent the danger of explosion, and the petrol can be pumped from any section so as to trim the ship. The car is enclosed with tightly stretched silk, the two sides forming a vertical plans, and the wide roof herizontal plane all constructed for giving stability to the ship in the pir. At the stern of the vessel is a rudior of some 900 square feet in the form of a bicycle
