The divers' work consists of atopping holos, repairing the damage to the hull, battoning down and strengthening the docks, and fixing the suction-pipes. When this is properly done the vessel becomes practically water-tight. The water is then pumped out, and the ship gradually rises to the surface na it is lightened. This was the case with II. M. S. "Sultan,” aunk between Malta and Gozo, and raised by Messra Baghino Bros., of Genes.
