forwards, Hunton, Buckie, Greenwood, Ranking, Mann, Hudson and A. Palmer.

After the heavy rain of the morning the ground was sedden and the ball greasy. with the result that the players found it diflonlt to keep their fooling and retain control of the ball. Consequently, the play was mainly confined to the forwards during the opening stages of the match. The Club began the attack and get within ten yards of the Services' line, where Pre- shaw throw forward. Immediately after wards Master was dangerous but wee brought low by Woodroffs. The pressuro was relieved by Kirwan breaking through and punting high. Prushaw took the ball but his kick was stopped by Ranking After loss play at mid-field Lloyd was prominent in a passing bout, but his fuel pass to. Wexidrotio was wild and Blackburn picked up. Ho passed in Pearce, who transferred to Preshaw, but the latter was downed, just as ho sent back to Pearco, from whom it went to Lang. The latter maric an excellent opening and finally, when only the full-back was in front of bim, passed to Master. With no one to stop him Master ran in and scored about ten yards from touch, when he might justas asily have gone behind the posta. Daniel missed the kiok at goal (3-0). Laneo play followed, with the Services showing out well. Lloyd, in particular, made good

openings, but the treacherous ground was against him and as often as not he slipped down. The bervices got within a few yards of the Club's line, but Wheen broke through and took the ball to the other end, where Lang tried a drop at goal, the bat rolling along the ground. The Club were passing oretically, but the greasy ball was much to blame for that, and Lang spoilt what seemed to be a certain try by delaying his pass too long. However, just after this whon in their awa territory, Bailey puntad and followed on, kicking over Gilbert's head. He scoured the ball again

and ran behind, scoring near the goal

posts. Daulol's kick was a failure. With-

in a couple of minutes the Club had scored again, though the try appeared doubtful, Daniel was offside by at least a couple of yards when he took the ball, but the fact escaped the referee's notice. He ran well, howovor, and when near Gilbert passed to Muuro, who scored; the kick at goal again failing (9-0).
