Racing

The present mild, moist and misty weather may be very welcome to some, espacially the cold petals, but to those ardent sports who conscientiously go down every morning to the Happy Valley in the spis hours of the morning, (or la it before mid-night some of them atart), It is very Aisppointing to find a heavy mist--which makes no protence of an effort to clear- covering the whole of the tack. It is very more than that, disappointing, nay. provoking and annoying, and causes thong endeavouring to time their respective favourites' performances to uttar strange and unknown words and sounds, not to be found in any first olsas dictionary, as the quarters are missed in the mist.

This moroing was just such an one, con Dequently I can record no times to-day. Mr G. Gresson's gray showed very good from, as also did Mr Macdonald's suh. Mr Mody's ned Mr Paul Chator's subs. went together and both put up very good gallops, the latter pony especially! I fancy he will "come in somewhere" on one of the great: daye. Mr Humphrey's and Mr Jupp's subs also went together, the former proving by far the better pony, beating his companlin badly. The latter maden very poor finish. Br Humphrey's ponyjis very like his last year's Bub., Velocity, in action and style of mov ing, though perhapa more of a stager, jodging by bis purformance last Saturday.
