The colonial garrisone wilt be lessened by some thousands of men. Nearly all the 3rd and 4th batalions of regiments baro been unofficially warned to curtail current expenditure, in view of coming changen. The regiments thus affected are the North uborland Fusiliers, Royal Warwickshiro Regiment, Royal Fusiliers, Mauchester Regiment &fiddlesex Regiment, Worcester- shire Regiment, and Lancashire Fusiliers.

An officer of the general staff said that if Mr Haldane adopts the drable company system with a recruit company and under ufficers he can save £5000 on with corps.
