AN EXTRAORDINARY RIDE

A PARIR, May 4.

"

One of the most extraordinary journeys on, record was performed by a man who arrived here on the Orient express from Constantinople this morning.

As the express drew into the railway torminge one of the railway officiati suddenly shouted: "There is a deni men on the bogie of the restaurant cat." Investigation was promptly made, when it was found that the man was not dead, but asleep, with his overcoat wrapped arbund bis facy, fle was awakened, and a moment afterwards, dishevelled and grimy, he crawled out on the platform.

"Hungry hungry!" he said devers! timce in German to the crowd of officials surrounded him, pointing, at the same time, to his mouth. Food and drink were supplied, and when he had consumed them he was keenly interrogated by one of the restaurant car officials."

"I am a Roomapian," said qbly namelia Dimitri Bouzilas, and I am a wine ✨ grower by trado. I came from Constantza, sport on the Black See. I took the boat from there to Constantinople, hiding_my. solf in the coal hole of a ship because I had Do.money.

"From Constantinople to Paris I bave travelled under the kitchen of the restau rant car. I chose thechen because I

but thought it would be warmor: terribly cold all the way.

"I had no food or drink with fwe, and I could not have eaten it er en if I had it, for I dayad not move.".

If the man told the truth big advanture has been a marvellous one. His journey under the train must have lasted fifty-three hours, for the express loft Constantinople at 2.20 on Wednesday morping, and reached Paris at 7.30this morning The man made himself understood with dificulty, so that the full atory of the terrible journey could not be told.

He has been reked up for examination, and is to be sent back to Roumanis in a day or two.
