WILD WITH ECZEMA
And Other Itching, Burning, Scaly Eruptions with Loss of Hair.
Speedy Cure Treatment.
Bathe the affected-parts with Hot Water and Cuticura Soap, to cleanse the surface of crusts and scales, and soften the thickened cuticle. Dry, without hard rubbing, and apply Cuticura Ointment freely, to allay itching, irritation, and Inflammation, and soothe and heal, and lastly take Cuticura Resolvent Pills, to cool and cleanse the blood. A single set is often sufficient to cure the most torturing, dis- figüring, itching, burning, scaly, pimply humours, eczemas, rashes, irritations, and chafings, with loss of hair, when all else fails,
The agonizing itching and burning of the skin, as in eczema; the fright ful scaling, as in psoriasis; the loss of hair and crusting of the-soalp, as in scalled head; the facial disfigurement, as in pimples and ringworm; the awful suffering of infants and the anxiety of worn-out parents, as in milk crust, tetter, and salt rheum,—all demand a remedy of almost superhuman virtues to successfully cope with them. Such are the. CUTICURA remedies, the purest, sweetest, most speedy and economical curatives for the skin, scalp, and blood ever compounded. Mothers are their warmest friends.
Millions of Women Use Cuticura Soap
Assisted by CUTICURA OINTMENT for preserving, purifying, and beautify- ing the skin, for cleansing the gcalp of crusts, scales, aud dandruff, and the stopping of falling hair, for softening, whitening, and soothing red, rough, and sore hands, for baby rashes and chafings, in the form of baths for annoying irritations and inflammations of women, or too free or offensive perspiration, in the form of washes for ulcerative weaknesses, and many, Banative, antiseptic purposes which readily suggest themselves, as well as for all the purposes of the toilet, bath, and nursery.
CUTICURA RESOLVENT PILLS (Chocolate Conted) are a now, tasteless,
odourless, economical substitute for the cele brated liquid CUTICURA RESOLVENT, As Well as for all other blood purifiers and humour cures. Fut up in screw-cap pocket vinis, containing to doses.

It is stated that His Majesty, in conversa tion with a French statesman-presumably M. Paul Doomer, President of the Cham ber of Deputies remarked that no nation has really contemplated disturbing peace, and that he was certash that none thinks of breaking it at present."
Nothing, His Majesty added, would be changed in the Auglo French entente, and efforts, would be made to increase the rapprochement between Great Britain and Russin, which the late Cabinet began in order to completely dissipate all causes of misunderstanding or any conflict of in
terests.

DEATH-BED MARRIAGE.
A Pathetic Ceremony.
VIENNA, Dec, 17.-The Hungarian MI- nister of Justice had a somewhat pathetic experience recently. Being called away from a jurist's banquet by an urgent messenger, he found in the next room a lady, who begged him to give an authorisa tion for her marriage with a dying man.
The case was a peculiarly sad and romantic one, The lady was Mathilde Epstein, born a Jewess. Nine years before she had made the acquaintance of Baron Ferdinand Dienersperg, a major of hussare. Her family would not hear of hor being baptised and his relations opposed. the marriage with a Jewess, After coming of ago, however, the girl went over to the Roman Catholic Church, but various causes prevented a wedding. In the first place, the Major had a bad carriage accident, and lay for months between life and death. Latterly, again, he was struck down with a paralytic attack, and had to be removed to the garrison hospital at Pasth. Feeling his last hour was near, he slgnified his wish to marry his old friend, and a telegram was despatched to the Emperor, whose consent was necessary, and was forthcoming also by telegram.
It remained to procure the authorisation
of the Minister, but the Ministry was shut, and the doctors gave little hope of the patient's surviving through the night. On hearing all the details, the Minister of Jus- tice sent for the deedful papers and filled them up at the hotel. It was past midnight when the bride reached the bos- pian, and the ceremony was concluded at half-past one in the morning, immediately after which the Baron fell into a state of unconsciousness, from which he never recovered. Ho loaves a very considerable fortune to his girl-wife,

The races are now not far off, and the ponies, with a few exceptions, are getting into splendid condition. Sceptics would have it, however, that some of the favour- 'ites (I will not mention names) were just slightly over-trained, which I was inclined to believe, but after what I saw this morn- ing I now think otherwise.
All that is required to make the meeting a success is good weather, and if to-day's early sunshine is any critérion then we inay look forward to the 12th, 13th, and 14th of February being ideal race days. At least let us hope so.
