THURSDAY, DECEMBER 7, 1905,
It does not sound a difficult game to play at, and yet I am not sure that it la quite eady to set about it in a successful fashion, I can recommend one way, how ever, and that is to get a Fig Book. It fe quite astonishing what a thawing effect this
his volume will have on people who otherwise Boom to find it quite impossible to disipere anywhere, and most folk become quite uproarious under e influence. Yet Pig Book requires no elaborate explanation. It is simply an album with blank spaces bordered with humorous Biggy sketches. In these spaces ono induces friends to draw a pig with their eyes shut, and sign the effort, Amaz ing results invariably follow. They are always provocative of mirth. Once get

of producing that occasional silliness which is decidedly wholesome. I think dentists should keep a completed Pig Book on the
cablos of their waiting-rooma. It would be sure to dispel the gloom induced by waiting for the drond summons to what our Ameri can friends call the "dental parlour.
Pretty Fans,
A tiny ivory fan is the latest form of Parisian fancy, and girls are bunting their family archives through to find those that were fashionable 70 years ago. Rich parents are this summer presenting their daughters with monogram fans. A girl carries a small silk fan of the folded variety, and is in the habit of opening it and laying it on her lap, and in the middle of the fan her name will be seen most exquistely. presented on specially wrought lace. An- other idea is a blue linen fan with a mono- gram in the centre of it embellished with a littlo cirole of green leaves. The appear- ance is very much as though it were a medallion set into the fan. And still on other fan is made of taffetas, with a worked medallion in the middle and a lace or nament at each side.
