The Articles in Le Matin purporting to give the accret history of the Morocco Conference, and the cause of the resignation of M. Delessse, has called forth a good deal of comment from the European Press. The state- ment that England offered in the event of war being declared between France and Germany to come to France's assistance by taking Kiel and putting 100,000 men in Scholswig is regarded by France and Germany, if true to be betrayal of Cabinet secrets by Delcasse, and if not authentic makes Delcaso tell an absurd falsehood. M. Delcasso has flatly contradicted the statement. But the mischief is done, for the German Press is commenting very unfavourably on England.
Le Matin' has a double lined loader. to-day. It says: For some time. Pacificism which seems to be, forgetfulness of the past, has been in. vogue. This is a dangerous equiv cism' that has boon exploited by Germany. We have wished to put a stop. to that. We have written to various leaders in France, Germany and Russia this question: Is any. rapprochment possible between France and Germany Bo long as the Treaty of Fankfort remains? M. Auguste

the felling of over 6,000 trees, and the con. atruction of an entirely new residential quarter at the entrance to the Bois has
revolted the feelings of all classes, and called forth a universal outburst of indigos tion. It must be iemembered that the Bols de Boulogne is not only a resort of wealth and fashion, but is one of the few places in which thousands of the poorest class09 can have a breath of fresh air. Indeed, one of the prettiest sights of the great park is that of the innumerable groups of well-dressed and orderly working class families, who spend
a great part of their Sundays in informal picnics in its hospitable shades.

Now that the public has thoroughly realised the danger that threatens its favourite baunte, it in scarcely likely that such an intensely unpopular and reactionary proposal will be persisted in. The project, which would affect not only Parisians, but all the French and foreign visitors for whom the Bois do Brulogne is one of the greatest auctions of the capital, seems
have arisen out of the deci gion to demolish the fortifications. The Paris Municipal Council, which has purchased from the State the part of the fortification and the glacis immediately adjoining the park, cannot, it is sold, afford to leave it unproductivo, and consequently proposed to divide it into building lots. The execution of this scheme would neces- sitate the felling of all the trees planted after the war of 1870 along the glacis from the Porte Maillot to the Porte d'Auteuil, a
of the population.
