The North Randfontein management determined to mako an example of the ringleaders and summoned the mounted polios from Krug- eredorp to arrest fifty-three of the boss" boys who had been the most ne ve in goading their comrades_on_to-suspuid- operations. Inspector Comyn, superinten don Loftus, Sergt. Witt, and eleven men of the ↑. When the 800 underground boys came to the surface, they at once took up a position on a stone dump near the shaft and armed themselves with pick hand- les, iron jumpers, broken bottles, and stones. Communication was opened up be tween the party on the dump and the coo. lies in the compound, and a conc rted at- tack followed upon the police, A furious melee, lasting nearly two hours, took place.. Superintedent Loftus was struck several times in the face, several of his teeth being knocked out and his chin badly cut. - In- spector Comyn barrowly escaped being cut down from behind by a co lie armed with a shovel. Red noses, spotty and stock a large supply of Building Materials, muddy complexions, and various other outward symptoms testify to the inward disorder. Of course, indigestion as EL chronic ailment is a matter for a medical man, but I cannot help thinking that a little more rogard to facts about simple and digestible food would help many of us to avoid some uncomfortable experiences. I can only touch on the matter of diet in the purest elementary manner, but oven so, such hints as I can give may be useful.. As a rule, far too much meat is taken, especially by those leading sedentary lives. In such cases it should only be taken once a day instead of being served at all three principal moale. Wholemeal bread is a nutritious subsitute for white; coffee, -occasionally, is a wholesome change from the eternal tea butter is a much moro valuable article of food than most people suppose especially for thin, nervous people, who are inclined to be neuratie. Some sort of fruit, taken on awakening in the morning, such as apples, pears, oranges. 2, forms an excellent substitute for that pernicious cup of early tea to which so many doctors are sworn enemies. those who have much brain work and ex- cessive fatigue the value of milk is often underestimated, and those who cannot, or think they cannot, digest it can assimilato it easily by making it very hot and adding a pinch of ealt. Miss Barr is now thevery type of bright, healthy young womanhood and there is no doubt that without the new blood which Dr Williams' Piuk Pills gave her, she would have funk into a Decline and died. Women know why they and their daughters poed new blood more than men; but men Derivent, for Hongay. can be Anemic, too. The weak back, easy fatigue, lack of interest in life, Indigestion, and general nervous weakness which trouble both men and women, need now blood to ouro them, and these pills make new blood. Nerves that need new blood to feed them show their need in Nouralgia, Fits, St. Vitus Dance, eventually Paralysis, Loco | Heathburn, for Iloilo. motor Ataxy, and utler breakdown. But Dr Williams Pink Pills can cure all these things-the genuine pls. It is important to avoid substitutes, and purchasers should take care to see the full name on the wrap per, before paying, fold by most dealers, or sent direct by Dr. Williams' Medicine Co., Holbern-vinduct, London, post-free for 2s. 9. a bottle ir six huttles for the price of fire-13s. 9d.
