PARIS, Jan. 21.

The relations of the United States and enezuels are feceiving the close attention of the European chancelleries, which aro keeping constantly advised from Caragas, It is said that this is due to the desire of the European countries to maintain the same cominercial rights at Venezuelan ports as now exist. The last Venezuelan controversy led to an agreement of the Powers to have Belgian officials administer the Customs at certain Venezuelan ports, and it is now desired that the present con- troversy shall lead to the displacement of the Belgians and their possible replace ment by Americans at the leading Ven czuolan ports It is also desired 1 maintain equality in tariff rates for Egro- peans and Americans. The idea prevails in high quartera that the controversy may lead to the European nations being placed at a coumercial disadvantage.

THE WORLDS: FINEST PHYSICIANS.

AXATINE is the mildest sperient known. It is pleasant in taste, not drastic but certain in action and even in large doses is harmless. Lazatine being non-init able will be found a great boon, to ladies especially, and in cases where the kidneys are irritablo or diseased. Laxatine is strongly recommended by the Continental Authorities and is being largely used in the London hospitals. Mesere A. S.
