SCALP AND HAR

Something for Mothers to Think About EVERY CHILD born into the world with an inherited or early developed tendency to distressing, disfiguring humours of the skin, scalp, and blood, becomes an object of the most tender solicitude, not only because of its suf- fering but because of the dreadful fear that the disfigura- tion is to be lifelong and mar its future happiness and prosperity. Hence it becomes the duty of mothers of such afflicted children to acquaint themselves with the best, the purest, and most effective treatment available, viz., THE CUTICURA TREATMENT.

Extraordinary Conversions.

Not since the memorable meetings at Loughor have thoro been such demonstra fions of emotion and enthusiasm as characterised recent services in Songhon vild. Three or four chapels were crowd. ed simultaneously, and the services held therein continued into the early hours of tho, morning. One gathering, in fact, did not disperse until it was time for some of the men' to go to their work-six o'clock-and then it W&S only with great reluctance that they. soparated. At that meeting special prayers were offered on behalf of a certain charac ter notorious in the district, his wife being. one of the suppliants. The congregation wont into ecstasies of joy in the early morning on seeing that very man entering the building. He was in a somewhat' dishevelled stato, a portion of his night attire peeping out above the collar of his cost. In passionate language he declared that he could not sleep, that he was com- pollod to get up, to rush to the meeting, and confess himself a convert. Encouraged by this, the congregation montioned the names of two other delinquents in their prayers, and as the hours wore on theso identical non put in an appearance. Again the multitude sang exultantly.

Leaving Caerphilly alive from end to end, the Revivalists met there at midday, and went to Senghenydd. Meetings of exceptional size, duration, and enthusiasm were held continuously from half-past ton in the morning, and the Revival was the one topic of conversation, every other matter for the time being having sunk into. Insignificance. The streets presented a desertod appearance, and shops and públic. houses were doing no business-everybody was at chapel.

THE WINE HARVEST IN

FRANCE.

PARIS, Jan. 6.-M. Jacquet, of the Revue Vinicole, has just completed his an- nual estimate of the wine harvest in France. He calculates that the yield amounts to 66,000,000 of hectolitres (the hectolitros is equivalent to 22 gallons), or 31,000,000 hectolitres more than last year. To this total must be added the product of the Al- gerian vineyards, another 6,000,000. This KWONG TY CHEONG,excellent result is due, to a great extent, to

The quality is gonorally above the average for grands crus and the wines made from grapes grown on the hill siden. It does not come up to expectation in the case of wines made from grapes grown in the small wines plains, whilst some of

the yields of certain Southern regions are only middling. It is believed that the alcoholic strength of the 1904 wines will be from one to two degrees higher than that in 1903. Finally, it may be noted that in several departments the hectare of land (about two and a-half acres) produced as much as between 300 and 400 hectolitres of wine. hosts of letters from all sorts and conditions of people, in which the writers acknowledge the benefit they have received from Clarkes's Blood Mixture, which as a curative agent cannot be too highly estimated, since it cleanses and clears the blood from all impurities, and restores it to fa normal condition. This is a good testimonial -from-the-Family Doctor the popular medical weekly, which goes on further to say: It is certainly the finest blood purifier that salence and skill have brought to light, and we can with the utmost confidence recommend it to our subscribers and public generally.
