FREIGHT CIRCULAR.
In their Freight Circular, dated Novem- ber 19, Messrs Lamks and Rogge ic. port:-
No change of moment has taken place since issue of last circular; freights have continued torule fairly steady and notwith- standing the Northern market (Newchwang), being now about closed and Saigon also out of season, good employment is still being procurable in various directions and the outlook for the near future remains good. Many enquiries are difficult to meet on ac- count of the absence of suitable steamers, but some tonnage will no doubt be driven Bouth shortly, when a large volume of bu siness may be looked for.
Saigon quotations for this port are more or less nominal. A boat, bound back, has been fixed at 13 cents per picul but, as Already mentioned, the season is at an ond and nothing much can be expected in this direction until the arrival of the new crop's produce.
For Philipp. ports, filling previously made contracts, a boat has been fixed at 32 cents per picul and there is room for another one or two but, after that, business is likely to remain at a standstill for some months to come, as in some of the provinces native tice will be becoming available again.
Saigon-Java, shipments are going forward by previously chartered boats, which, for the time being, supply the demand. Rates
are the same as before viz., 20 cents per picn1.
Java to this, the enquiry continues; but the sero ty of tonnige has prevented bu noss being brought about.

From Bangkok to this, no Charters are reported, but the outlook in this direction romains decidedly good and a fair amount of tonnage is likely to be wanted ore long. From Newchwang to Canlon, there has beon a rush for tonnage at the close and up to 50 cents per pical has been paid, but most of the chartering has been done up North, principally Local Co's. boats, out- iders having been almost unprocurable. Vory fair rates have also been paid for stenmers loading up, both for Chefoo and Newchwang.
Coal rates continue to rule steady at $2.15 to 82 20 per ton. Moji or Kuchinotzu to this; several fresh settlements are on record and there is further demand.
On monthly terms, four Charters are ro- ported at fair rates.

THIRTEEN DOCTORS FAILED TO CURE LIVER (OMPLAINT.
BILE BRANG EFFECT A CURE.
FTER soven years' martyrdom to the
Avils of sluggish liver, Mr Joseph Atwell, a Iailway ganger of 8, Holly Bush- terrace, Glyn Neath, near Aberdare, Wales, was recently cured by Chan. Forde's Bile Bans for Biliousness. He is a member of the local Baptist Church, and has many friends there who can vouchsafe for the accuracy of the following interesting state-
ment.
All my life, and ore especially during the last seven years,' aid Mr Atwell, I have suffered greatly from the sluggish action of my liver. On a morning I felt languid, weary, and oppressed, and had great difficulty in making myself get up to go to work-not that I really desired to shirk it, but rather because I was altogether out of sorts I had to avoid pastry and all heavy fonds for fear of indigestion and biliousness and plain bread and butter with a small piece of mutton was my best fare. More would have produced fearful agony, and even as it was I was often un- well after a meal. My face was cover d with pimples and blotches, some of the spots being as large as peas. The dulness which overcome me I could on no account shake off, and I was exhausted with the least effort.
*Last year I lost three months' work, and the winter before that I was stopped for a similar period. No less than twelve doctors in the Aberdare and Neath Valleys, and one in Loods (Yorkshire), tried in vain to curo me. Bottle after bottle of medicine I took without effect. At Leeds, 1 have a son, who sends me the eeds Mercury,' Land in that paper I noticed a report of A bad case like mine that had been cured by Chas. Forde's Bile Beans. I doubted·| whether it was worth while spending any more money on such an apparently hopeless case as mine was, but at last I thought that I would just try once again, and went in for a course of the Besne. I soon uw good reason to be grateful for the chance to try the medicine, for with the first box my hope revived. I felt quite different. I began to want my food, to appreciate it when I got it, and to fee benefited when I had eaten it. There was none of the old nauzer after meals, and no nasty sense of fulness Of course I went on with the Beans, and now having completed the treat ment I am in the best of health, strength, and spirits. I can eat pastry now without the slightest discomfort. At our Chapel tes only recently I ate as much cake and sweet stuff as any body, and it never affected me. I always get a thorough rest through a night now, and get up in the morning the like lark. Every trace of my old silments has disappeared, including the pimples and the blotches. My thanks are, dus entirely to Chan Fordele Ella Beans, which cured me after all those years of suffering
