WILD WITH ECZEMA
And Other Itching, Burning, Scaly Eruptions with Loss of Hair.
Speedy Cure Treatment.
Bathe the affected parts with Hot Water and Cuticura Soap, to cleanse the surface of crusts and scales, and soften the thickened cuticle. Dry, without hard rubbing, and apply Cuticura Olutment freely, to allay itching, Irritation, and inflammation, and soothe and heal, and lastly take Cuticura Resolvent Pills, to cool and cleanse the blood. A single set is often sufficient to cure the most torturing, dis- figuring, itching, burning, scaly, pimply bumours, eczemas, rashes, irritations, and chafings, with loss of hair, when all else falls.
The agonizing itching and burning of the skin, as in eczema; the fright- ful scaling, as in psoriasis; the loss of hair and crusting of the scalp, as in scalled head; the facial disfigurement, as in pimples and ringworm; the awful suffering of infants and the anxiety of worn-out parents, as in milk crust, tetter, and salt rheum, all domand a remedy of almost superhuman virtues to successfully cope with Them. Such are the CUTICURA remedies, the purest, sweetest, most speedy and economical curatives for the skin, scalp, and blood ever compounded. Mothers are their warmest friends.
Millions of Women Use Cuticura Soap
Assisted by CUTICURA OINTMENT for preserving, purifying, and beautify- ing the skin, for cleansing the scalp of crusts, scales, and dandruff, and the stopping of falling hair, for softening, whitening, and soothing red, rough, and sore hands, for baby raslies and chafings, in the form of baths for annoying Irritations and inflammations of women, or too free or offensive perspiration, in the form of washes for ulcerative weaknesses, and many sanative, antiseptic purposes which readily suggest themselves, as well as for all the purposes of the toilet, bath, and nursery.
CUTICURA RESOLVENT PILLS (Chocolato Conted) are a new, tasteloss,
odourless, economical substitute for the cole- brated liquid OUTICURA RESOLVENT, as well as for all other blood purifiers and humour cures. Put up in screw.cap pocket vials, containing 60 doses.

The Battle of Towan, The London Standard's correspondent with General Kuroki sends the following interesting matter dealing with the fighting about Toyun to his paper:-Shortly after noon the centre burst into activity. The four batteries on the ridge to our right opened with energy upon the enemy's position above Tien-sui-tien, while the two batteries on our left turned their attention to the bills South of Towan. New life had come into the fight, and through the sun- scorched air screamed a hundred shells The ridge in front of the Pass smoked and flamed, while the cone-like penka be- yond the valley seemed to spring from

Into the batteries on our right burst shall upon shell, sosttering the gunners, and sending the Infantry to closer cover down the slope. The Colonel in command of our Artillery was slightly wounded, and several men were killed and disabled. In vain our gonnors atrove to- locate some of the hidden batterica that were most active, and in vain they en deavoured to silence those which were unmasked. The enemy's guns were akil fully posted, and the gunners had taken tho precaution to peel some of the trees and to measure the ranges on our front.

I must now return to our left wing, where the result of this activity in the centre was anxiously awaited. The Infan- try had been checked all slong the line, though the men stuok bravely to their pos itions in front of the hidden trenches, and kept well under cover. It is the habit of experts on the continent and of the Jap anese also, whose Military system is based on that of Germany-to speak lightly of 'Boer tactics. Before he emitted to mention a cause which, quite as could call the guard out to investigata much as the extravagance and selfishness of women, conduces to the state of things he so much deplores. I mean the unselfish. ness of some men. Let me give a case in point. A man of my acquaintance has been engaged for three years to a woman who is devotedly attached to him, and whose affec tion he presumably returns. His income is about £500-rather more than less, with a prospect of its increase. The woman is young and healthy, and is willing to risk matrimony. He, however, considers it would be the grossest selfishness on his part to drag a woman down to the life of drudgery which would be entailed by an attempt to exist on such a pittance. In the meantime he belongs to three expensive Clubs; húnts.
