It has been suggested by His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government that there should be an annual competition. This should give a zest to the drills and tend towards smartness and ufficiency.

An Assistant Engineer, with practical Fire Brigade experience, is expected from Eng- land this year. This appointment should be of great advantage to the Brigade.

New Fire Brigade Station is much to be desired. The present one is too small for the increased requirements, and its po- sition in a busy thoroughfare, hampers the home drills and causes obstruction. new and convenient site has been suggeS- red, but will n be available for some time, Ordinance No. 1 of 1903, Section 149, necessitates the provision of Fire Escape for all new houses (and for previously exis- ting buildings in three years) for every storey more than forty feet from the ground.

The steamer runs an excursion trip every Cargo and Specie will be registered for Sunday. It takes only 34 hours to reach London as well as for Marseilles, and so. Macao. cepted in transit through Marseilles for the principal places of Europe.

Shipping Orders will be granted till Nood only on MONDAY, the 21st March. Specie and Parcels received until 4 p.m. on the same day. No Cargo will be re- ceived on board on TUESDAY.

The child was very bad at this time, twisting and convulsed all over her legs, body, arms and face; once or twice I even noticed it in her eyes. But in less than two or three days after commencing to take the pills she began to improve. She could kit up in bed, and the attacks became less severe, and before the end of her first bottle she was talking of going back to school.
